  • About ARDNet

ARDnet is an open-source tool with the main goal of constructing networks of age-related disorders associated proteins, drugs, and pathways to assist users to analyze and visualize ARDs related data. ARDnet not only integrates several age-related disorders and their associated proteins information but it also incorporates information about drugs and their ARDs protein target.

The ARDnet constructs four kind of networks associated with various aspects of ARDs. These networks are:

    1) Age related disorders and protein network construction : ARDnet constructs age related disorders and protein networks. This is a bipartite network, in which one node represent proteins and other represents disorders. The ARD-protein bipartite network consists of a total of 51 age-related disorders and 2509 unique proteins. The user can select name of any or multiple age related disorders and protein molecules and analyze their interactions. In the constructed network, size of the node represents and the number of associations of age related disorders with associated protein molecules; while each edge represents the connection of a disorder with protein molecule.
    2) Age related protein protein interaction network : The user can construct ARDs protein protein interaction network to show and analyze association of desired proteins. The network information consists of 1723 ARDs proteins and 3492 ARD protein protein interactions. This tool constructs only highly reliable interactions. The interactions were corrected on the basis of weights, assigned by the type of experiments used. Each edge represents association of two interacting proteins.
    3) Age related disorders pathway interaction network : The user can construct network of ARDs related interacting pathways and study their association. This tool constructs only significant ARD pathway interactions as interactions were corrected on the basis of average jaccard and overlap coefficients. Each edge represent connection of two interacting pathways.
    4) Drug – ARDs target interaction network : ARDnet also constructs the network of ARDs proteins and associated drugs. The user can analyze drug association of ARDs protein of interest. The backend data consists of all known FDA drugs (approved, experimental and investigational) and their ARD targets. In this network, each edge represent connection of a drug moleciule to a target protein molecule .
